Rita has used a reflex camera since she was 11 years old. She was born in Queretaro, Mexico, where later she studied Visual Arts with a major in Graphic Design. During those early years she participated in several collective exhibitions with street photography and fine art photo. There was only film and gelatin silver; developing and printing in the dark room.

While her heart was always gravitating and working around photography, she concurrently received an MBA and developed an extensive career in Mexico City. She worked for more than a decade for international corporations in management positions and at that point in her life is when she felt an imperative need to create and produce photography like never before. Therefore, she traveled to New York City to study professional photography at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in 2007. In that same year she changed her residency and Canada became her new home.  Since then Rita has worked professionally as photographer.

One of her specialties is portrait on location. She loves portrait because she found faces the most precious subject to work with. “Someone said that a good portrait photographer is the one who can showcase the soul of the person in the photograph”… Rita is not sure if she has gotten a soul’s key yet but in the search of it, everyone of her subjects had left an unforgettable imprint on Rita’s core.
